Customizing Student Settings

Updated 2 years ago by Mackenzie Maddox

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

Managing student settings on Education Galaxy and Liftoff has never been easier!

Our new "Manage Students" page allows the teacher to customize settings and accommodations for students all from one page. Teachers will no longer have to navigate to a different page to change each student setting.

This update is not removing any of our existing setting options; it is just streamlining the process for teachers to customize their student's accommodations and settings all from the new "Manage Students" page.

Teachers will be able to activate Education Galaxy and Liftoff, lock and unlock the diagnostic tests, activate read-aloud, choose language settings, limit skill practice usage and avatar customization to after school hours only, all from the new "Manage Students" page. Administrators will have a few more "admin only" options that will also be located on this page.

Now, to manage student settings, go to the "Student Center" and select "Manage Users," then click on the "Manage Students" option.

Filter or search for students with the menu options on the upper left-hand side of the page. You can change settings for individual students, a group of students, or the entire list of students. Each option is outlined below with a 1, 2, or 3.

  1. To change settings for an individual student, click "edit" next to that student's name.
  2. To change settings for a group of students, select the students by checking the box next to each student's name and use the "Group Action" section to select the settings.
  3. To change settings for the entire list of students on the bottom half of the screen, check the box in the header next to "FIRST NAME." It will automatically place a check next to each student's name in the list. Then use the "Group Action" section to select the settings.
A group action will allow teachers to customize settings for a group of students at one time. Please note that you can only update one setting at a time.

Teachers can also add a new student, generate student ID cards, print and/or export a class list from the new "Manage Students" page.
